Filmmaker Kamal Abdel Aziz, Director of the National Cinema Center and Festival President of the Ismailia International Festival for Documentaries and Shorts, announced that the festival's round for this year will assign 100 volunteers to help on several aspects of the festival.

Producer and scriptwriter Mohamed Hefzy, the appointed Festival Director, stated that volunteers are assigned in festivals worldwide; therefore, it was important to start looking for volunteers to take part in the activities of Egyptian festivals. This would be a chance to develop a new generation of youth able to organize similar events, add to the festival a positive spirit of cooperation, and to support the festival's team to give the event the best look.

He added that applicants, males and females, from Cairo, Ismailia, and near cities are to send their information via email and through the festival's official Facebook page for volunteers to be part of the festival that will be running from June 4th to June 9th, 2013.

The Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries and Shorts is one of the major film festivals in the Arab world, and the first in the region to be exclusively dedicated to documentaries and shorts. The festival was first launched in 1988.
