Introduction to Co-production Platform
Ideas, projects, and films spring forth when people meet and talk. The exchanges of thoughts, challenges, and experiences are the first steps in the long and strenuous process of filmmaking. It is a path that is best not walked alone.
For all these reasons, the management of the 16th edition of the Ismailia International For Documentaries and Shorts decided that it was time to launch a co-production platform dedicated solely to documentaries. This platform is very important to this year's festival team because of the firm belief that potential lies in the midst of conversations and meetings. A platform for meetings and exchange can be the impetus that gives a push to ideas so that they can see the light.
This year the selected projects are compelling and gripping. They represent different genres of documentaries and they come from all over the world. All of them have an Arab connection. We are very confident that this platform will change something in the path of these projects. We hope that both industry delegates and project representatives will leave Ismailia with more spring in their step so that they can take further steps in the process of making these worthwhile films.
