Ismailia city has hosted the festival for sixteen years and it's considered one of the most charming cities in Egypt. The quiet city is situated on the coast of the Suez Canal, which links between the Red and Mediterranean seas, functioning as a link between civilizations, exactly the same as the Suez Canal for nearly 150 years.

Coinciding with the construction of the Suez Canal, Ismailia city was established in 1869 by Khedive Ismail, after whom the city is named. Nowadays you still can find many buildings that date back to the time of the city's construction during the French involvement in the Canal. Ismailia inhabitants work in tourism, agriculture and works related to the Suez Canal; however the festival has become part of the social-cultural environment of the place.
