Synopsis:
When portrait photographer Marcus finds himself in an awkward situation after running over a young girl’s cat, he attempts to ease the problem by inventing a story about its disappearance. Telling the girl her pet has gone on a round-the-world trip, he finds himself having to embellish his white lie through a series of postcards - but this solution soon threatens to become more trouble than it was worth…

A New Zealand based director and producer, Madam Black is his second short film. Funded by the New Zealand Film Commission, the film has screened at film festivals on four continents, winning numerous accolades. Ivan’s first short film Snooze Time was released online in late 2014 by Vimeo's Short of the Week and was selected for the New Directors section of Shots.
