Honoring Rajaa Al-Jeddawi at the opening of the Ismailia International Documentary and Short Films

Scriptwriter Mohamed Al-Basousy, head of the National Center, said: Our choice to honor the late artist, “Raja Al-Jeddawi” at the Ismailia Festival for Documentary and Short Films, stems from two reasons. The first is that she is honored in her hometown, as she is one of the most prominent sons of Ismailia, and the second reason is that she has a long artistic balance of artwork between cinema and drama. The number of her performances exceeded 300, and her roles varied in space and form, and her daughter, Amira Mukhtar, would receive her honorary shield during the opening ceremony.
Critic Essam Zakaria, head of the festival, said: Honoring the artist, Rajaa Al-Jeddawi, is a well-deserved honor, as she has a long, distinguished, and also diverse artistic career, and her beginning was on the cinema screen, through the movie “Doaa Al-Karwan” based on a story by the Dean of Arabic literature, Taha Hussein, and in front of Faten Hamama and Ahmed Mazhar, and the next important experience was in the movie "Rumor of Love" with Omar Sharif, Youssef Wehbe and Souad Hosni, and then her works continued, including "The Dawn Visitor", "I Wish I Didn't Know Love", "A Dinner Date", "Bareq Ayoun" and "Hadwa Masriya" And “days in halal”, “mud”, “the price of alienation”, “the scorpion”, “the doorman’s house”, “I am not with them”, “cousins” and “from 30 years old” and “staying up nights” and You are my life", "Cultural Film" and "Taymour and Shafiqa".
