Q&A for You Come From Faraway directed by Amal Ramses
Egypt, Cairo | Friday - 12 April, 2019:
A Q&A was held for documentary You Come From Faraway directed by Egyptian director Amal Ramses within the 21st round of Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries and Shorts. The Q&A was moderated by critic Sayed Mahmoud.
Ramses said her film is discussing the life of Palestinian champion Nagati Seddki.
She added that the cost of every minute of the archive reached 1,500 euros so she decided to edit the film by herself. She also noted that she used Spanish language in the film instead of the Arabic language because it is better for the story and characters of the film than the Arabic language.
She added that she agreed with Palestinian singer Reem Banna before passing away to use a song of her songs for free in the film.
Ramses also said that Palestinians don't mention Israel and Zionism and that they always mention al Quds and its beauty and this coincides with the film and its vision.
Ismailia film festival (April 10-16), presided by critic Essam Zakaria, is organized by the National Center of Cinema led by Dr. Khaled Abdel Geleil.
