Where Did Ramses Go?, Faraway win best films in Ismailia film festival
Egypt, Cairo | Tuesday - 16 April, 2019:
The administration of Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries and Shorts, held on April 10-16, announced the winners of the 21st round of the festival.
This came during the closing ceremony that was held in the culture palace of Ismailia and attended by head of Suez Canal Authority Mohab Mamish, Ismailia Governor Hamdy Othman, head of National Center for Cinema Khaled Abdel Geleil and president of the festival Essam Zakaria.
Animation film Tango of Longing from Poland won the artistic creativity award from the Egyptian Animation Society. Kids from Switzerland won the best animation film award while The Crow of Separation won best student film. Two documentaries won best student films which are Being in Seventh Heaven and Beyond Our Memory.
FACC award went to You Come From Faraway from Egypt while FIPRESCI award also went to the same film.
The jury of short fiction films announced giving special mention to A Country in Moving Pictures from Philippines while the jury award went to Fish Monologue from Bangladesh while the best film award went to Arcangel from Mexico.
Michail and Daniel from Ukraine won a special mention while Where Did Ramses Go? From Egypt won the best long documentary film award.
The jury also gave a special mention to Quiet Street from Belarus while the jury award went to The White Hell from Egypt. Another jury award went to Blue Breath from Portugal while the best short documentary film award went to Faraway from Kyrgyzstan.
