Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries and Shorts celebrates the star "Safiya Al-Omari"

The Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentary and Short Films, which is held by the National Film Center headed by the scriptwriter "Mohamed Al-Basousy", announces a special celebration to celebrate a number of Egyptian stars who starred in short films, on the sidelines of the activities of the 22nd session chaired by the film critic Essam Zakaria and scheduled to be held during the period  From 16 to 22 June in Ismailia.

 

Scriptwriter Mohamed Al-Basousy, head of the National Center for Cinema, said that a special celebration is scheduled to be held throughout the festival days to celebrate the stars of short films through a special program, whose activities begin on the second day of the festival, to celebrate the great star Safia Al-Omari, who starred in the short feature film "You Have Me".  Directed by Rogina Bsali and produced by the National Center for Cinema, "Al-Omari" won the Best Actress Award at the Faten Hamama Film Festival, which was held in London last month. The film will be shown during the celebration, followed by honoring the artist Safia Al-Omari by handing over the festival shield.

 

Al-Basousi pointed out that the great actress Safia Al-Omari is one of the most prominent Egyptian movie stars and has a huge cinematic credit.  The one who designs her clothes for her and at the same time loves an officer, but circumstances prevent their marriage, so the officer marries and years pass, but he returns to her after a long period of time and asks her to marry so that the lovers regain their first love.

 

It is noteworthy that the Ismailia Festival is held annually by the National Film Center in Ismailia Governorate, and it is held this year with all preventive and precautionary measures taken to maintain the security and safety of our guests and all participants in the festival.

 

The Ismailia Festival is one of the oldest festivals in the Arab world and the first Arab festival that specializes in documentaries and short films. Its first session began in 1991.
