The Ismailia Festival to celebrate the legacy of Abdel Kader Telmissany and the Ismaily Sporting Club.
The Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries and Shorts (IIFFDS), will celebrate the legacy of the pioneer Egyptian documentary filmmaker Abdel Kader Telmissany, as well as Ismailia’s beloved team Ismaily Sporting Club, during its 25th edition from February 28th to March 5th, Egyptian critic Essam Zakaria is the festival's head, under the supervision of the National Film Festival led by Hussein Bakr.
Telmissany and the Ismaily club are two milestones. The festival will screen three films by Telmissany and will release a book authored by his daughter, May Telmissany.
The festival will commemorate the centenary of the founding of the Ismaily Club, dubbed locally as Al-Darawish, through a workshop overseen by the critic Mohamed Abdel Fattah and several former players of the club.
