Ismailia Festival Unveils Programming Team
The Ismailia International Film Festival for Documentaries and Shorts (IIFFDS) has disclosed its programming team for its 25th edition, scheduled from February 28 to March 5, 2024.
Heading the IIFFDS programming team is critic Rami El-Metwally, serving as the Artistic Director and also programming the Short Documentary Competition. Critic Arwa Tag Eldeen assumes the role of Deputy President of the festival and oversees the programming of the Long Documentary Competition. Critic Rasha Hosny curates the Short Feature Competition, while Ibrahim Saad takes charge of the Animation Competition. Marwan Omara is responsible for programming the festival's special programs.
The selection committee for the Long Documentary Film Competition comprises Aliaa Talaat, Mohamed Kamal, Haitham Mufid, Mahmoud El-Ghaytani, and Sarah Abdel Aziz. For the Short Documentary Film Competition, the committee includes Safaa El-Leithy, Nahla Ahmed Mostafa, and Wael Saeed.
In the Short Feature category, the committee features Amal Mamdouh and Ahmed Ezzat. The Animation Committee consists of Mohamed Dandrawy, Mariam Abdel Rahman, Reem Saad, and Tarek Rashad.
Finally, the Student Film Screening Committee comprises Safaa Abdel Razek and Nour El-Din Ahmed.
Egyptian critic Essam Zakaria leads the festival, under the auspices of the National Film Festival led by Hussein Bakr.
