• Head of the screenplay department at the Higher Institute of Cinema at the Academy of Arts (1987: 2006).
• Head of Cinema Department at the Higher Institute of Art Criticism at the Academy of Arts (2003: 2005).
• Head of the National Cinema Center at the Ministry of Culture (1999: 2001).
• President of the Alexandria International Film Festival of the Mediterranean Countries 2003.
• Rapporteur of the BA Arts Committee (2005: 2007).

• Supervised several master's and doctoral dissertations in a number of institutes and colleges in Egyptian universities and academies.
• The author of the first archeological research in the history of Egyptian cinema (1986: 1988) crowned the discovery of the Egyptian films unknown for the period 1923: 1932 to the first film pioneer Mohamed Bayoumi and accordingly re-established the history of Egyptian cinema on a different basis than before.
• Founder and President of the Noon Foundation for Culture and Arts 2008, which hosts the Sharm El-Sheikh Festival for Arab and European Cinema
