Latvia
Born in 1983,she is an illustrator and animation filmmaker based in Zürich, Switzerland. Melece studied visual communication at the Art Academy of Latvia (BA) and animation at Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Art (MA). Her film THE KIOSK (2013) has received numerous awards including the Swiss Film Award for the Best Animation Film in 2014, and has been screened at more than 100 film festivals.
It was followed by MARA (2014), a documentary by Krista Burane for which Melecewas the art director.
